YOUTH TEAM

Harriers Youth Team made a successful return to the Midland Floodlit League winning their division and both the league cup and the Worcestershire cup.

Harriers recruit players for next season's youth teams to represent the Club in the Midland Youth League (Under 18) in May 2010.

Trials: Will be held throughout May with an open trial at Aggborough in May 2010. To register for a trial contact Dave Edge on 01562 863821.

Training: For accepted players, pre season starts in July at Sion Hill, Kidderminster 5pm - 6.30pm. From Spetember, players are expected to train for four sessions per week. Mondays 12.30pm - 2.30pm, Tuesdays 5.30pm - 7.30pm, Thursdays 10am - 12pm Fridays 12.30pm - 2.30pm.

Matches: Games take place on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings in the Midland Floodlit League and Midland Premier Football Youth league. Home matches are held at Aggborough, Baxter College or Sion Hill. Some players will receive the opportunity to play reserve team football. In our first season three youth players signed professional contracts, Nathan Hayward, Zac Castello both signed 1 year dealswith the club and keeper Rob Holmes moved to Bristol Rovers.

Education: Academy players are required to attend a Wyre Forest School or College for their education. Students can apply to atake course of their choice (A Level, BTEC etc) to any of the following: Baxter College, King Charles, Wolverley, Stourport, Bewdley, Haybridge High School and Kidderminster College. ContinU will assist students from outside the Wyre Forest area in gaining a place. When selecting a course, players must ensure OPTION BLOCK A is left free as this will leave players free to train. Additionally all players are expected to complete a sports coaching award organised by the Youth Coaches.

The Youth set up is sponsored by ContinU Trust. ContinU is an amalgamation of Wyre Forest Schools and Colleges dealing with 14 - 19 year olds education. We hope that this youth team can lead to more succesful players such as Steve Lilwall, Richard Forsyth and Lee Hughes appearing for the Harriers, who started in the Harriers Youth. All the players started in Harriers Youth Team.

Join our Minikickers at age 5 and you can continue to play for the Harriers until you leave school and maybe one day a junior player will make it all the way to the first team!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

JUNIOR TEAMS

Our Junior teams are run by a dedicated team of parents. The teams start at Under9 and are formed with players from our Minikickers centres. We have teams playing in the Stourport Youth League and selected teams playing in the Midland Premier Football league. Trials for these teams are held in June/July.
